Venison is a tasty addition to any casserole, and this one features moose meat.
Ingredients
2 to 3 cups pre-cooked moose meat, cut into bite size pieces
2 cups minute rice, brown
1 can carrots
1 can peas
mild cheddar cheese
- Cook the rice as directed on the box.
- Drain the carrots and peas, reserving about 1/4 cup of the liquid. Mix the vegetables with the rice.
- Place the moose meat into the bottom of a casserole dish, and pour the reserved liquid over it.
- Spread the rice and vegetable mixture over the meat, then sprinkle with cheese.
- Bake on 350* until the meat is warmed through.
Tips
- Use leftovers to save money.
- Vegetables fresh from the garden can be pre-cooked and used in this recipe.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve this casserole with biscuits and butter.
- A side salad of greens and zucchini will also go well with this dish.
