I create goals each new year for many aspects of my life. These goals help me to keep track of what I want to do throughout the year, and provide me a checklist on which I can mark off things as I accomplish them. Some items on the list will not be marked off until the end of December, because they are to be worked on year round, but others are marked off as completed showing my progress.
Right now, my cooking goals include getting used to using small appliances that I have never used before. I want to be able to create good meals while living in the room that I rent, until I find a one bedroom apartment that is desirable.
My plan is to share my progress using these appliances here on the blog. I know I am not the only person renting a room.
I will also be sharing my experiences with cooking for one, and saving money on preparing the meals I create.
-
Start a windowsill herb garden for the limited cooking I can do in my room.
-
Try sprouting alfalfa
-
Learn to cook with a microwave. As of yet, I have only warmed things up in a microwave.
-
Learn to make a good meal on one and two burner hot plates.
-
Learn to cook in a toaster oven.
-
Learn to stock a dorm size refrigerator well, with affordable, healthy foods that I will use.
-
Write about my experiences using these small appliances.
-
Write about my experiences cooking for one.
-
Start putting out Frugal Recipes Happenings on a regular basis.

Re-introduce the food column.
Do you have any food related goals for the New Year?
