Eating healthier always makes me feel better about myself.

A healthy breakfast consists of fruit, protein and a grain. Any kind of fruit can be used, from bananas to melons to berries. Apples slices are particularly good, and can be easily dipped into the yogurt.

Homemade jams, jellies and preserves save money, and can be spread on a slice of 100% whole wheat or whole grain toast.

Another way to save money is to purchase yogurt in tubs than than serving sizes. Also, choose small pieces of fruit, which are actually one serving.

Enjoy your breakfast!

Consumer Reports Health notes that a heart healthy diet is rich in fruits and vegetables. And the MayoClinic.com reports that one of the steps in a diet for a strong heart is to eat more fruits which are low in calories and rich in dietary fiber.
