I am trying come up with new recipes in order to make my meals more affordable, while eating as healthy as is possible on a budget. I am also working on losing weight, and have lost 70 pounds so far. This forms a need for limited, more expensive items to be purchased.

For example, I usually use 100% whole wheat or grain products, though there are some white pastas in the home for occasional use and to save a little money. I cook with EVOO, and bake with Canola oil or no-trans fat shortening. I also use Country Crock on foods, store brand when cheaper.

I am also cooking mostly for one now, which I don't care much for. Feel free to tweak these recipes as you need to for the most savings.
