February 2012: Create a Pantry in 1 Month Challenge

Pantry Commentary

February 1, 2012 marks the first day of the Create a Pantry in 1 Month Challenge. Each week of the month, I challenge you to complete tasks and read articles geared toward creating a pantry that will work for you and your family. The information provided in the articles will help you to save as much money as possible on food to stock your pantry with.

Pantry Cleanse

You may comment on the individual posts, sharing tips, questions and links.

* When posting your own tips, please provide your name and city/state under it. If you have a pantry related blog or website that is not a store, you may also link to it under this other information. I may ask if I can feature the tip(s) on this challenge page, as well as in a blog post for my other blog, Living the Low-Income Life. It would be great if you could also take a photograph of the finished dish in case I ask for its use.

* If I use one of your tips in one of the ways listed above, I will give you a free copy of one of my eCookBooks :-)

* One lucky person will receive a free copy of each of my eCookBooks.

The goals of this challenge are to:

  1. Aid you in finding a place to create a pantry.

  2. Help you to organize the area that you choose for your pantry.

  3. Teach you how to create a pantry inventory.

  4. Show you how to save money on food and other items you need to store.

This challenge goes well with different resolutions or goals that you may have set for yourself this year, including:

  • Saving money on food purchases.

  • Creating more meals from scratch.

  • Organizing your home.

  • Feeding your family better.
